Editing the home route for delivery app

As a UX designer, I've encountered a persistent issue with Google Maps that affects many of us on a daily basis. While Google Maps boasts remarkable capabilities, it often fails to provide accurate directions to my home. The location is correct, but the problem lies with the route displayed. It leads to the back side of my home, which is blocked by a large wall, causing inconvenience not only for me but also for services like Uber and Zomato that rely on its data.

After doing a bit of research online, it was clear to me that I was not alone. Many users encounter similar issues due to dead ends, one-ways, road constructions, narrow passages etc. While not everyone may have faced this problem, it's more common than you might think.

What if there was a solution empowering users to edit their home route?

Here I am exploring a feature for an imaginary food delivery app that allows users to customize their routes. This capability could significantly enhance user experience and mitigate the frustration caused by inaccurate directions.

This being a quick project, I could not do much user research on it and this was more of a rough idea. Let me know your feedback on this to make it better!
